GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Four Somali students have departed to Zimbabwe for postgraduate studies in Plant Mutation at the University of Zimbabwe.
The four were selected following a highly competitive program and were awarded an education scholarship by the Federal Government of Somalia’s Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation.
This is the first time since the civil unrest, that Somalia’s Ministry of Agriculture, with support from the Ministry of Finance (SCRP, funded by the World Bank), is sending students abroad for higher education in agricultural sciences.
This underscores the federal government’s commitment to invest in developing requisite skills among its young citizens as a way of investing in the nation’s future.
