Somalia, Serbia Strengthen Bilateral Ties Through High-Level Talks

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia and Serbia have reaffirmed their long-standing diplomatic relationship with a renewed commitment to strengthening cooperation in key sectors, including security, economic development, and technology.
In a telephone conversation, Somalia’s Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation minister Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Fiqi and his Serbian counterpart Marko Djuric, discussed advancing bilateral ties and enhancing collaboration to support the interests of both nations.
During the talks, Minister Fiqi emphasized Somalia’s dedication to fostering global partnerships that drive economic growth and security.
“Somalia is committed to building strong alliances that serve our national interests and contribute to regional stability. Strengthening our cooperation with Serbia will open new opportunities for trade, security, and technological advancement,” he stated.
Minister Djuric lauded Somalia’s diplomatic approach and reaffirmed Serbia’s continued support for the country.
“Somalia has always been an important partner, and we see great potential for deeper collaboration. Our shared history of diplomatic ties spanning 65 years is a testament to our mutual respect and commitment to progress,” he said.
Both leaders agreed to facilitate high-level exchanges and official visits to expand cooperation. They also pledged to explore new avenues for collaboration that will benefit the citizens of both nations, strengthening trade, security initiatives, and technological advancements.
