#SomaliaElections2021: Mohamed Garabey elected 4th senator in South West

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Mohamud Abdinur Garabey beat his only rival Nuur Baabul Adow to emerge winner in the just concluded vote by Southwest state parliament.

Garabey got 76 votes while Adow got nine votes. Five votes were spoiled. Garabey told the state assembly ahead of the vote that he has been working in the local government in Baidoa for the last 40 years.

He comes from the Geeladle sub-clan of the Mirifle clan. The seat was hitherto occupied by Senator Abdualli Abdi Garun.
