Somalia’s attorney general and auditor general due to appear before parliament for questioning
The federal parliament of Somalia will have its normal session in Mogadishu today.
Two senior officials of federal government of Somalia, the attorney general and auditor general are expected to come before the parliament for questioning.
The speaker of federal parliament Mohamed Sheikh Jawari said on Saturday that he has received motion filed against the attorney general and auditor general by some members of federal parliament.
The security of the parliament building and the surrounding areas was tightened by government forces and African Union peace-keeping troops as all the roads entering the building blocked.
Somalia’s Attorney General and the auditor general have together signed a letter banning the out-going ministers of federal government from traveling abroad until they hand over their offices to the new government.
