Somaliland Records Over 99% Pass Rate in Grade 8 and 12 National Exams
GOOBJOOG NEWS | HARGEISA: Somaliland authorities have announced the results of this year’s national certificate examinations for Grade 12 secondary school students and Grade 8 intermediate school students, recording pass rates of 99.8% and 99.6%, respectively.
A total of 16,078 students sat the Grade 12 examination, with 16,051 candidates passing, representing a 99.8% pass rate. Only 27 students, or 0.2%, failed the examination.
At the Grade 8 level, 25,954 students sat the examination, of whom 25,860 passed, translating to a 99.6% pass rate. A total of 94 students, equivalent to 0.4%, failed.
Overall, 42,032 students sat the two examinations, with 41,911 passing and 121 failing, putting the combined pass rate at approximately 99.7%.
The results indicate exceptionally high performance in this year’s certificate examinations, with nearly all candidates qualifying to progress to the next level of education.
Authorities congratulated the successful students, their parents and teachers, while encouraging those who did not pass to make use of future opportunities to improve their academic performance.
