South West State Officials Tours Clashes Prone Areas
Ministers from newly formed South West State has been touring towns and villages in Lower Shabelle in an effort to solve tribal clashes that has been ragging for long in the region.
Among the areas they visited are No. 50 and El Waregow where armed clan militias are based, the delegate met with elders of both sides.
The ministers were in Marko town last night where they would also try to convene a mini mediation summit.
One of their main objectives to oversee the implementation of Afgoye tribal accord, which stipulated a lasting peace between the warring clans.
Since its inception the South West State has been making headway in mediation efforts in the lower Shabelle and has been credited to achieve something even the federal government couldn’t.
