SWS presidential election kicks off today in Baidoa town

The highly expected southwest presidential election in today expected to kick off in Baidoa town the headquater of Southwest state.
Only five candidates are contesting for the seat since Mukhtar Robow was struck out his name from the ballot by the election committee following his arrest and still remains under the custody of the federal government of Somalia.
Baidoa town has sparked by endless protest last week following the arrest of Mukhtar Robow who was one of the presidential candidates of SWS election.
The situation of Baidoa town is now calm and the security is very tight as the Somali government forces and AMISOM have blocked all the main roads in the town to maintain the movement of the public and private vehicles.
