Tensions between Somaliland and Puntland mount again in Sanaag region

Reports from Sanaag region indicate that there are tensions in the area between Puntland and Somaliland forces.

The resident of Badhan area is still intense that there might be clashes that could erupt at any time as war preparation of both sides is underway.

The commander of Somaliland forces in Badhan Guled Osman Salah and the administration of the district have recently joined the Puntland administration is said to have been creating the new tension between the two administrations.

Numerous Somaliland forces have reportedly reached the outskirts of Badhan, where they had previously been based in Somaliland.

Puntland President Said Abdullahi deni said last week that his administration is ready to negotiate with the disputed territories and that Somaliland was also confirmed ready to negotiate.
