Three Ethiopian soldiers killed in landmine explosion in Baidoa
GOOBJOOG NEWS/BAIDOA: At least three Ethiopian soldiers were killed and four others wounded when a car exploded at an Ethiopian military base in the southern Somali town of Baidoa, officials said on Saturday.
According to local sources, one of the vehicles in an Ethiopian military convoy struck a landmine, resulting in casualties.
Al-Shabaab, through its affiliated websites, claimed responsibility for the blast, saying it killed three soldiers and wounded four others.
No details have yet been released by the district administration and Ethiopian military officials regarding the blast.
Al-Shabaab militants often carry out targeted attacks on government and AMISOM forces as they move between Bay and Bakool regions.
