Turkey President Arrives in Mogadishu
Turkish President Rajeb Tayib Erdogan has arrived on Sunday at the Mogadishu International Airport where Somali government organized a welcoming ceremony for the visiting president.
After observing protocols, Erdogan with Somali president Hassan Sheik Mohamud stepped into the building of the new airport terminal which a Turkish Company named Kosovo built it, at the new terminal Erdogan cut the ribbon to officially open.
“I am happy to be in Mogadishu once again, I comment Kosovo Company for building this impressive terminal of Aden Abdulle Osman Airport” said Erdogan in a roughly translated statement from Turkish language.
Erdogan is also expected to tour some of the Turkish developmental projects in Mogadishu and also will open the biggest hospital in Africa build by Turkish development agency.
This is the second visit by Erdogan, he first come in Somalia in 2011 when the devastating drought was on, this time he come here as a part of larger tour of countries in Africa where he signed a cooperation truce.
