Two gov’t soldiers killed in Awdheegle attack, Lower-Shabelle region

Report indicates Al-Shabab attack the Somali national army base at the Awdheegle district in Lower Shabelle region.

The attack took place at a checkpoint at the government military base in the Lower Shabelle region which resulted in casualties and injuries.At least two government soldiers were reportedly killed in the attack, while another soldier was wounded in Awdheegle district attack.

In a statement posted on the Internet, al-Shabab said that they have ambushed government forces in Awdheegle district, saying that they killed two soldiers there and killed two others injured.

Since 2012, Al-Shabab has carried out several attacks and bombings at different bases in lower shabelle region but now controlled by Somali National Army.
