Two other Somalis gunned down in SA, adding to 8 killed in a fortnight

GOOBJOOG NEWS|CAPE TOWN: In yet another attack on foreigners living and working in South Africa, two other Somali nationals were gunned down Tuesday night barely 72 hours after three others were killed in a similar version.

Yasin Omar and Yusuf Jowhar became the latest casualties of marauding gunmen baying for the blood of immigrants accused by natives of taking their jobs and contributing to the rise in crime, allegations which are yet to be proved.

The two young men were shot dead by gunmen near a business entity in Khayelitsha, a slum near Cape Town.

South Africa is no stranger to xenophobic violence, with hardworking Somalis bearing the greatest junks of such attacks.

It is now up to the new Somali government to step in and demand answers from the South African government on why violence is time and again meted out on its people, before the entire Somali community in the region is wiped out.
