US to support Somalia in the second phase of the war against Al-shabaab

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia and the United States have agreed to enhance collaborations ahead of the second phase of the war against the Al-shabaab militants scheduled to start in a few weeks.

While meeting the US Interim and Charge d’Affaires Ambassador to Somalia, Mr. Shane Dixon in Mogadishu Tuesday, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre thanked the United States government for their continued support to Somalia in the security, development and humanitarian sectors.

The Prime Minister reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to eradicating the Al-shabaab militants and restoring peace and stability in Somalia.

On his part, Ambassador Dixon praised the Somali Government for accelerating the war against the Al-Shabaab and the plans related to the priority programs for the Somali government.
