Well-known peace activists killed in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: A well-known peace activist in Mogadishu has succumbed to injuries sustained in a gun attack on Friday in the Somali capital.

Yusuf Dahir Khaire (Yusuf Dhore), a Somali peace activist, was shot and seriously injured by assailants in the MBC neighborhood, Hodan district.

Yusuf Dhore was shot severally in the upper torso by the unidentified gunmen who fled the scene immediately after the shooting.

Unfortunately, the peace activist succumbed to his injuries at Erdogan Hospital (Digfer) where he had been rushed for treatment.

No arrests have been made so far regarding the killers of the peace activist who is said to have been one of the delegates who recently selected the new members of the Somali 11th parliament, but efforts by government forces to track the culprits are on course.
