Gov’t Forces Launch Operation Against Al-Shabaab in Gedo Region

GOOBJOOG NEWS | JUBBALAND: Somali National Army have launched military operations against the Al-Shabaab militants in locations between Luuq and Dolow Districts in Gedo Region of Jubbaland State.  

According to the commander of the 10th Battalion of the 43rd Division of the National Army Major General Osman Niiniile, the government forces will continue operations to ensure security and smooth traffic movement in Luuq and Dolow areas.

Major General Niiniile stated that the government forces are committed to sustaining their operations against the militants who have been interfering with traffic movement by cutting off crucial roads in Gedo Region.

The federal government of Somalia has increased the deployment if troops in the region who have received a major boost from recent graduates who were stationed in parts of the region.
