36 killed, 26 injured in clan clashes in Adale, M. Shabelle

At least 36 people have been killed and 26 others injured in clan clashes that erupted Sunday in Adale, in Middle Shabelle region.

According to medical sources in the town, the 26 who sustained injuries in the attack have been transferred to Mogadishu for treatment.

Goobjoog News correspondent in Jowhar says the fighting which erupted Sunday between clans in the area had now subsided. Hiiraan administration has dispatched elders to Adale to mediate the warring factions, our correspondent says.

The fighting follows another round of fighting in Hiraale in Galgadud region in the last week which has since claimed over 40 lives. Leaders in the region have called for ceasefire to avert more deaths.
