5 Somaliland MPs elected in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: The Northern Electoral Implementation Committee has concluded holding elections for 5 seats in the House of the People at the General Kahiye Police Training School, Mogadishu.

The first seat, HOP # 205 was won by the former Director General of the Ministry of Defense,  Ahmed Abdi Koshin. Koshin emerged the winner after he received 99 votes by a show of hands. His rival, Muna Hussein Farah, was eliminated from the race before it could start.

The second seat HOP # 263 was won by Muse Said Jama after receiving a whooping 101 votes by a show of hands. His rival, Khadra Abdi Mohamed withdrew from the race.

The third seat, HOP # 240 was won by Ali Mohamud Aden after he received 98 votes by a show of hands with two abstentions while his rival, Rhoda Mohamud Ahmed, stepped down from the race.

The fourth seat, HOP#271 was won by Ali Abdi Ibrahim today after he was voted for by 90 delegates with three abstentions trouncing his rival, Farhiya Absiye Wais.

The fifth and last seat of HOP # 241 was won by Abdiqani Ismail Said after he received 91 votes. His rival, Ayaan Ismail Abdi, withdrew from the race.
