Abdihakim Doobo elected as the new Puntland parliament speaker

A new Puntland parliament speaker was today elected at Garowe town the headquarter of Puntland administration.

Four candidates were contesting the seat in the first round but only two of them went to the second round and then Abdihakim Mohamed Ahmed ( Doobo) has won in the second round with 43 votes and was declared as the new parliament speaker of the Puntland speaker.

Abdihakim who got 43 votes was declared the winner after defeating three other candidates including Abdi Jamal Osman who was the second winner got ( 23votes), Ali Abdirahman Ali (9 votes) and Abdirashid Yussuf with (5 votes) and no votes have dissipated.

The Puntland presidential election is expected to be held on 8th January 2018.
