Abdikarin Ahmed Mooge elected mayor of Hargeisa city

GOOBJOOG NEWS|HARGEISA: MarOodi-jeh regional council which encompasses the capital Hargeisa has elected Abdikarin Ahmed Mooge (pictured) as the new mayor of Mogadishu.

Mooge now takes over from Abdirahman Saltelco who has been serving as mayor of Hargeisa for over ten years. The new mayor garnered 26,000 votes in the May 31 district council elections.

Khadar Ahmed Nur was elected deputy mayor of Hargeisa.

The two officials are from the Somaliland opposition parties UCID and WADANI.
