GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The extremist group Al-Shabab has yet again executed five men in cold blood in Jilib town, which is about 98km north of Somalia’s port town of Kismayo.

The men were executed on Sunday afternoon in the presence of hundreds of locals, whom Al-Shabaab had forced to watch the live shooting.

Without presenting proof, an Al-Shabaab judge claimed that the five individuals had confessed to having given intelligence to US intel.

Sunday’s executions bring to 18 the number of suspected spies executed by firing squad by the Al-Qaeda-affiliated group since late July.
