Al-Shabaab sets 7 villages on fire, blows up wells in Hiran region

GOOBJOOG NEWS|HIRAN: Reports from the Mahaas area in the Hiran region, say that Al-Shabaab terrorists have set 7 villages on fire.

According to the governor of the district, Muumin Mohamed Halane, the militants also destroyed water wells as well as communication masts in roughly 7 communities that are part of the Mahaas district in the Hiran region.

Mohamed Abdikadir, a member of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament elected from the region, confirmed to State Media that Alshabab destroyed and burned wells near Bukure village in Hiran region, amidst a severe drought in the area.

The Member of Parliament added that it was saddening to note that the group was only targeting a particular community, that is, the Hawadale community.
