Al-Shabab claims the suicide bomb killing of Mudug governor

Al-Shabab has claimed the responsibility of killing the governor of Mudug region, Ahmed Muse Nur killed in a car bombing in the semi-autonomous state of Puntland claimed on Sunday.

According to the police and a security official, the governor has been killed along with three of his bodyguards in a suicide car bomb immediately after he left the work station in Galkacyo district.

The group frequently targets government officials in the area as Puntland authorities vowed to investigate and bring to book the perpetrators of the attack.

following in a separate operation carried out by the Puntland security forces in Bossaso seized explosives devices set up by the Daesh group in a building mainly to target government soldiers and civilians.

The security forces also arrested inmates who were behind a bomb explosion that killed five people including security forces at Bosaso town in Puntland regional state.
