Al-Shabab suspect escaped from prison in Uganda
According to the Daily Monitor-News in Uganda, Abdi Qadir Mohamed Mohamud Sander, a former terrorist suspect, escaped from a prison in the capital Kampala.
The man, one of the leaders of the group in southern Somalia, along with five other Somalis, was accused in 2014 of plotting attacks on the country’s parliament, Oasis Mall, Makerere University and other key places in central Kampala.
According to the Uganda police report, Abdi Qadir Mohamed Mohamud escaped from his detention center 10 days ago. In 2018 Uganda police arrested him and his colleges under hidden area after Uganda High Court dismissed the terror attack charges against him and his co-accused.
