Arab foreign ministers to discuss situations in Arab countries
The Arab foreign ministers will discuss during a meeting in Cairo on Monday, the current situation in Yemen, Libya, Syria and Somalia.
Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Ben Helli said in a joint press conference with Jordan’s permanent representative at the Arab League Bisher Khasawneh, that the ordinary session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, which will be chaired by Jordan, will be attended by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Abdullatif Al Zayani.
Khasawneh, who is also the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Egypt, said that the permanent representatives on Sunday agreed on the basic elements of the Arab Summit’s agenda that is scheduled to be held later this month in Sharm El-Sheikh.
The representatives, he added also agreed on the Arab League Council’s agenda at the ministerial level, which includes 24 key articles as the Palestinian issue, the Arab- Israeli conflict and ways to support the Palestinian National Authority in order to establish an independent Palestinian State on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the two-state solution, international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
