GOOBJOOG NEWS | KISIMAYO: The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia Saturday handed the Abdalla Biroole Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Jubaland State to SNA forces.
The handover marks the fourth base transfer in phase three of ATMIS troop drawdown in an aim to gradually transfer security responsibilities to the Somali authorities.
The handover is part of the phased withdrawal of ATMIS troops, aligning with broader efforts to empower Somali forces and build a robust, self-sufficient security framework in a bid to stabilize the country.
The ceremony concluded with affirmations of continued support and cooperation between ATMIS and the Somali security apparatus underscoring a shared commitment to the stability and prosperity of Somalia
