AU asks Somalia to stabilize security in Mogadishu
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: African Union special envoy to Somalia Ambassador Souef Mohamed El-Amine has stressed the need for the Federal Government of Somalia to urgently address security issues in Mogadishu.
Speaking during a meeting with Security Minister Mohamed Ahmed Sheikh Ali, Ambassador El-Amine said that the African Union remains committed to support Somalia’s efforts to restore peace and stability in the country.
He commended Somalia’s security forces for the progress they have made in restoring peace and stability in the capital city and he entire country.
The two leaders further discussed other avenues of cooperation between the AU and Somalia in stabilizing the country to facilitate a stable and secure environment for the socio-economic growth of the country and the well-being of its citizens.
