Authorities in South West Parade Al-Shabaab Defectors in Baidoa

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BAIDOA: Authorities in Baidoa, the capital of the South West state, presented to the public ten Al-Shabaab militants who recently defected from the militant group.

The ten men appeared in public Sunday amid the intensifying war against Al-Shabaab in the central regions. Authorities said the men were variously involved in the Al-Shabaab organisation in the southwestern parts of the country.

Their defection followed an open government amnesty for members of the militant group to defect to the government side.
