Banadir region reduces workers salaries

The administration of Banadir region in a meeting has for the first time reduced the salaries and the wages of local government workers in the region.

The meeting was chaired by Banadir regional governor and mayor of Mogadishu Hassan Mohamed Hussein Muungaab.

The process will continue for six month as senior local government official confirmed to the media, the deducted funds will be used to reconstruct government centers in Banadir region.

The reduction will be based on the rank of the official by 30%, 20%, 10% and 5% of worker’s salaries respectively.

During the meeting the participants also discussed other issues including security hygiene and beautification of the city that is reviving from civil war.

Banadir region has assigned 12 companies to manage the garbage and wastes in all Banadir districts, the governor urged all districts commissioners to work closely with the companies so as to boost the sanitation and beauty of the city.
