One person killed as demos break out in Bulo-Burte

One person was killed and two police officers were injured Tuesday in Bulo-Burte following demonstrations against the appointment of a new mayor.

The newly appointed mayor was scheduled to visit the area today following his recent appointment.

Reports indicate that some of the demonstrators were arrested by the Djiboutian contingent under AMISOM.

Residents told the local media security forces allegedly opened fire at the demonstrators leading to the death of one person

Tension remains high in the town.
