China donates $150,000 to boost humanitarian efforts in Somalia

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: China has donated $150,000 to the Somalia National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) to help people affected by drought and those in areas recently liberated from the Al-Shabaab militants.

The donation was handed over to SoDMA Commissioner Mohamud Maalim Abdulle at the agency’s headquarters in Mogadishu Sunday by Chinese Ambassador Fei Shengchao.

Ambassador Shengchao and Commissioner Abdulle also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between China and Somalia in the areas of disaster management and aid distribution.

The donation from the Chinese government is a significant step in the cooperation between Somalia and China in addressing issues related to disaster management and aid distribution. It is also a testament to the strong bilateral relations between the two countries.
