Probe team urges Puntland to pay $15,000 and $7,500 for men and women respectively killed in Bosaso clashes
GOOBJOOG NEWS|BOSASO: Puntland government will have to part with close to one million dollars to meet the cost of the deadly clashes between state forces in December, a fact-finding committee has revealed.
According to a report by the committee, the state will be required to meet the cost of the losses which adds up to $807,000. The committee said 22 people were killed during the week-long clashes between Puntland Security Forces (PSF) and forces allied to President Abdullahi deni. The 86 people who were injured will each receive $2,500, the Committee said.
The 13-member fact-finding committee issued a statement stating that 22 lives had been lost and 86 other people were injured, including men and women, and that an estimated cost of the war stood at $ 807,500.
The state government will also be compelled to pay $345,000 for losses of property which includes homes, hospitals, businesses and vehicles.
