Danab Commandos kill 60 Al-Shabaab fighters in Hiran region

GOOBJOOG NEWS/JOWHAR: A planned operation by the Somali National Army (SNA) special forces, Danab Commandos to weed out Al-Shabaab militants in Fidow village of Hiran region Tuesday morning, has led to the killing of 60 members of the group, Gen, Odawa Yusuf confirms.

SNA chief Gen. Odawa Yusuf confirmed to State Media that the Somali National Army with support of airstrikes by Somalia’s security partners laid an ambush on the group’s hideouts on Tuesday morning, killing five of the group’s top in command and their members.

The SNA chief also said that security forces destroyed Al-Shabaab’s mobile courts and explosive centers by razing them to the ground.

The areas where the troops carried out the operations are Fidow, Dudubley, Kiliga China and Buraa in Hiran region.
