Storyline:National News

GOOBJOOG NEWS | BAIDOA: Defence Minister Ahmed Moallim Fiqi and Chief of Defence Forces Brigadier General Ibrahim Mohamed Mohamud visited frontline positions in Baidoa as part of a broader effort to reinforce security operations and assess troop readiness.

The visit comes amid ongoing campaigns by the Somali National Armed Forces to stabilise key areas and push back militant groups across the country.

The officials held closed-door talks with field commanders and later addressed soldiers, praising their role in recent operations, including efforts to reopen the main supply route linking Mogadishu and Baidoa.

The road is considered critical for civilian movement and trade, and its reopening is seen as a step toward improving security and economic activity in southern Somalia.
