Deputy PM Congratulates Somalia’s 5000 Meters Silver Medalist Abdullahi Mohamed

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Government of Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister Saleh Ahmed Jama, received Abdullahi Jama Mohamed, a Somali athlete who has won a silver medal for Somalia in the 5000 meter race during the recent 13th African Games in Accra, Ghana.

While congratulating the Athlete for flying the Somali flag high during the competition, the Deputy Prime Minister said Mohamed’s is a youthful athlete who deserves a special recognition for making Somalia proud at the continental event.

“Abdullahi’s hard work and determination is an encouragement to the Somali youth as it’s an indication that they should not look wait success. They should volunteer and lead as success is attainable, no matter how many challenges there face,” he said while receiving the athlete at his Mogadishu office.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the Federal Government is committed to the development of the youth and enhancing their skills, so that they can participate in the global job market.

“I am confident that Abdullahi and similar young volunteers will have greater success and bright futures and will bring more trophies home. The government stands by the efforts of the youth, and is ready to support them in their dreams of success,” he said.

The Federal Government of Somalia through its youth empowerment programs is prioritizing the development of sports, by building sports infrastructure so as to provide training facilities for the youth so that they can showcase their talents and abilities at the international levels.
