Deputy PM Jama Launches Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister Saleh Ahmed Jama officially launched the Bulsho Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization (SACCO) in Mogadishu, a move aimed at boosting small businesses in the country.

The organization also aims to enhance financial and social inclusion for economically active members of the Somali population with low incomes.

Speaking during the event, Deputy Prime Minister Jama expressed support for the initiative, recognizing the potential of small businesses to drive national development and inspire the populace.

“The establishment of Bulsho (SACCO) represents a pivotal step in motivating our people and fostering national growth,” he stated.

Deputy Prime Minister Jama also extended his congratulations to former office holders who have ventured into small business, emphasizing the importance of developing local enterprises that can replace costly imported goods.

“We must move towards creating small businesses that not only support our economy but also reduce our reliance on expensive imports,” he added.

The Bulsho (SACCO) initiative shows Somalia’s commitment to empowering its citizens through economic inclusivity and sustainable development and promises to be a transformative force in Somalia’s economic landscape.
