Embattled ex-Puntland speaker ‘stripped’ of parliamentary seat

Disgraced immediate former Speaker of Puntland Parliament Abdihakin Dhoobo Daareed who fell out with State President Abdulahi Deni has been ‘stripped’ of his Parliamentary seat and banished out of the August House.

Out of 41 MPs present in Tuesday morning session, 40 voted in favour of a motion to kick him out in a controversial process which started with stripping him of his parliamentary immunity.

Daared was removed as speaker of Puntland Parliament last month after run-ins with Deni amid reports he was receiving backing from the Federal Government.
