Federal Government Appoints New Administration for Waajid District
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia has appointed a new administration for Waajid district in the Bakool region, in a move aimed at strengthening local governance and stability.
In a circular dated March 24, the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation said the appointments followed an assessment of the political and security situation in South West State, as well as consultations with traditional elders.
The ministry named Hasan Abdi Isak as district commissioner, alongside Mohamed Abdirahman Mohamed as first deputy commissioner for security and politics, Aden Ali Kulow as second deputy commissioner for social affairs, and Ayanle Abdi Dhuh Yare as secretary of the local administration.
The ministry directed the officials to assume their duties immediately and oversee the delivery of public services and administration in the district.
It also called on traditional elders and local stakeholders to support the new leadership to ensure stability and development.
The directive was signed by acting Interior Minister Ali Yusuf Ali-Hosh and took effect immediately.
