Mohamed Hassan Abdille, Director General at the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, inaugurated the Training of Trainers (ToT) programme on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) targeting key cereal crops.

Abdille said the programme is designed to equip agricultural extension workers with the skills needed to support farmers, promote sustainable production and improve yields across the country.

He emphasized that strengthening extension services is critical to boosting productivity and enhancing food security, particularly in rural areas.

The training brings together participants from federal and state levels and is being implemented in partnership with Somali National University and SomRep.
