Four suspected Al-Shabaab fighters surrender to government forces in South West state

Four men believed to be members of the militant group Al-Shabaab surrendered to government forces in Gofgaduud in South West State Sunday.
The area administration official Buurey Sidow Ali Shine said the four comprising of three young men and an adult aged 50 crossed to the government side after making contact with the officials.
“The youth are aged 15, 17 and 18 years and were with a man of 50 years. They were armed but kept contact with us on several occasions. They later handed themselves to the government forces who in turn took them in before they were received by the ministry,” said Shine.
The four are now under the custody of the Disarmament and Rehabilitation Ministry of the South West administration.
