Gaas announces the Puntland presidential election timetable

Puntland President Abdiweli Gaas has yesterday issued a timetable submitting the Puntland presidency and members of the parliamentarian election on a press release from his office.

The press statement reads that the Puntland clan’s elders must select their representatives in Puntland in accordance with the Puntland constitution, relating to the Ethics Committee and the Conflict Resolution until 10/12/2018.

The Puntland House of representatives first session will be held on 01/01/2019 after completing their special duties of selecting the election committee and their related boards between 1 January and 6 January 2019

There will also be a special law that will be set out in the appointment of ratification of dispute resolution.

The Puntland presidential and his deputy election will take place on 08/01/2019.
