GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: A visit by Somali federal lawmakers and senior officials to a military training camp in Bakool boosted the morale of new recruits and reinforced government support for the Somali National Army.

Led by lawmaker Abdullahi Black, the delegation met hundreds of trainees undergoing military instruction, highlighting the government’s commitment to youth engagement and capacity building within the armed forces.

“The visit demonstrates our support for young Somalis preparing to defend their communities and contribute to national stability,” Black said, urging recruits to maintain discipline and dedication.

The delegation’s presence also showcased the progress of the trainees, who performed drills and a military parade for the visiting officials. The demonstration confirmed improvements in operational skills and preparedness, a key goal of the government’s ongoing security strengthening efforts.

The visit aimed to motivate the recruits and signal sustained government investment in Somalia’s defence capabilities amid continuing operations against Al-Shabaab militants.
