Gunmen ambush trucks transporting food aid to Bulo-burde

Unknown gunmen suspected of Al-shabab members ambushed trucks transporting food aid to Bulo-Burte district in Hiran region. Hiran governor Abdifatah Hassan Afrah and other officials accompanied the trucks heading to the town.

The ambush occurred in Halgan locality, explosions and sounds bullets between the sides in heard in Halgan and nearby areas.

Our correspondent in Hiran region, Shukri Hussein Samriye says the confrontation is still going on and side exchange heavy fire.

The casualties of the clash is not clearly known.

The food aid was delivered by the government of Djibouti to the drought hit areas in the region. The trucks left Beledweyne yesterday.
