President Hassan Sheikh speaks to his Egyptian counterpart through telephone

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received  a phone call from Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud on Saturday 8/11/2014 , Egyptian presidential spokesman Alaa Yossef confirmed.

The two leaders have discussed wide range issues including the bilateral ties between the  two courtiers, the latest developments in Somalia and East Africa, Yossef added.

President Sisi stressed Egypt’s keenness to support Somali efforts to achieve security and stability in the Horn of Africa country, he further said.

Egypt called for holding an urgent meeting at the Arab League at the level of permeant delegates to discuss the current crisis between Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mahmud and his Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed.
The Egyptian leaders stresses the importance of the Arab role and Somalia Committee that contribute to mediation efforts aimed at solving the crisis.
