Heavy fighting erupts in President Gudlawe’s front yard
GOOBJOOG NEWS/JOWHAR: Reports coming in from Beletweyne say that heavy fighting is ongoing in front of the residence of HirShabelle state leader Ali Gudlawe after clan militia clashed with Federal Government Forces.
Fighting erupted after a dispute arose over the HOP010 seat which is reportedly said to be allocated to a certain individual who is not the right owner of the Lower House seat.
According to witness reports, one soldier was killed and two others were wounded in the fighting, with a possibility of more casualties.
Meanwhile, the Hirshabelle President Ali Gudlawe and his deputy Yusuf Dabaged, are embroiled in a bitter dispute over the management of 16 parliamentary seats in Beletweyne which has led to the delay of the electoral process, with fears rife that the state may yet again be unable to beat the March 15 deadline.
