Heavy fighting ongoing in Yasoman and Berayabal villages in Hiiraan region

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BELETWEYNE: Heavy fighting has erupted in Yasoman and Berayabal villages near Bulaburde town in Hiiraan region after Al-Shabaab fighters attacked the positions of Somali forces backed by local militia.

 There is little information about the fighting that is currently going on in the area that was recently liberated from the terrorist group after a siege that had lasted for the last 13 years was lifted by the Somali National Army with the help of locals.

 Today’s attack has been viewed as a sign of retaliation from the Al-Shabaab camp after it suffered another defeat Tuesday following the killing of 21 of its members, including Rakhib Mohamed Hassan, the Al-Shabaab leader in Hiiraan region.
