HirShabelle peace efforts yield fruit as warring factions accede to talks
Reconciliation efforts in HirShabelle have in the last few days secured a settlement among feuding clans in the state.
Hiran Governor Ali Mohamed Arale, Ministers, Hirshabelle Parliamentarians, and Military officials who arrived in the region have held separate meetings with the elders and other stakeholders from the community.
The Director of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Hirshabel Mohamed Kulmiye said that after long discussions, a positive solution was reached over the current conflict in Marere. Also, Kulmiye said that the Elders, youth and other sections of the community were involved in the resolution and reconciliation of the warring clans.
The recent clashes in Hiraan region, especially in the areas of Jowil district resulted in deaths and several other people injured.
