Jubbaland State Launches Civilian Protection Campaign in Newly Liberated Areas
GOOBJOOG NEWS | KISIMAYO: The Jubbaland State has launched a civilian protection campaign aimed at fostering sustainable peace in newly liberated areas.
Speaking in Kisimayo, Presidential Envoy for Stabilization and Civilian Protection Omar Hashi outlined the importance of integrated approaches and collaboration among various stake holders to protect civilians in these areas.
Hashi stated that the initiative involves tailored interventions aimed at addressing specific needs of each area reclaimed from the control of the Al-Shabaab group.
“The protection of civilians is paramount to the stabilization process. We must ensure that every community feels secure and that we address their specific needs,” Hashi said.
According to Hashi, the campaign aims to bring together all relevant stake holders including; local leaders, security forces, civil society organizations and international partners to develop a coordinated approach in addressing the community needs and peace building.
He further stated that such collaboration is seen as essential to achieving long-term stability and preventing further violence in areas that have been liberated from insurgent control.
“Achieving sustainable peace requires the efforts of all stakeholders; government, communities, and international partners. We are working toward creating an environment where civilians are not only protected but also empowered to rebuild their lives in peace,” Hashi said.
The initiative also focuses on preventing human rights abuses and addressing the challenges faced by displaced populations who are returning to their homes.
