GOOBJOOG NEWS | BAIDOA: Federal government of Somalia’s Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Hassan Moalim Mohamud Tuesday officiated the inauguration of a newly constructed prison facility in Baidoa, Southwest State.

The minister during his visit inspected the facility’s construction and operations, including the cells and overall structure.

The new prison is expected to address the growing need for secure detention centers for convicted individuals and suspects awaiting trial.

Minister Mohamud is also scheduled to hold separate meetings with officials and officers from the Somali Correctional Forces, who oversee the management and security of detainees at the facility.

The visit by the minister underscores the federal government’s commitment to strengthen the justice sector and improving infrastructure to support law enforcement and judicial processes.
