GOOBJOOG NEWS | JOWHAR: A huge fire has burnt down the main market in Jowhar town, Middle Shabelle region, reports say.

Traders said the fire spread through various parts of the market located in Hantiwadaag area, causing massive loss of property.

The traders further lamented that lack of proper equipment hampered efforts by firefighters to control the inferno and avert loss of property.

Local officials have not yet provided any information on casualties or the exact extent of the damage.

However, images shared on social media show flames and thick smoke filling the sky over the town.
