Ministerial Task Force Meets to Discuss Support to Liddo Attack Victims
GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: The inter-ministerial taskforce appointed by Prime Minister Hamze Barre met on Saturday to set the framework for response and support to the losses as a result of the deadly Friday attack at Liddo beach which left over 30 people dead.
The taskforce chaired by Education Minister Farah Abduulkadir met at the headquarters of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA).
Among those present were the Minister of Health Dr. Ali Haji, the Minister of State of the Prime Minister’s Office Hirsi Gani, the Chairman of the Disaster Management Agency Mohamud Macallin Abdulle, and various sections of society.
The meeting discussed plans to provide support to the families of those who lost their kin, medical bills for those who are admitted in hospitals and losses incurred by businesses in the area.
At least 37 people died in the Friday night attack at Beachview Restaurant in Mogadishu’s Liddo beach. More than 60 other people were injured.
